A KNet Packet Node on Mount Washington has been launched and operational.  Call sign VA7MWP-8 is a VHF KNet Node operating on 144.970 MHz. The coverage from this node isimpressive! This station hasr eceived beacons from Port Alberni, Ladysmith and as far as Saltspring Island.  Matthew Fox has also reporting connecting to this node from the Sayward forest north of Campbell River.  We also have two new nodes that went live recently on Texada: VHF VE7TXD-8 and UHF VE7TXD-6 plus VE7TXD-10 as this node has internet! This node has the same great coverage of Mount Washington with a better penetration into the Cowichan and Alberni Valley plus Duncan.

Note from the Editor: Just to clarify terminology and prefixes... a -8 is a node on 144.970 and a -10 is a gateway connected to the internet. A -6 is a UHF node on 440.125.
